My passion for cooking started when I was just a kid and I would get up early on Sunday mornings to cook fresh bolognese with my father. The kitchen was my playground, and creating dishes was my favorite game. Growing up in a family of cooks, this way of life inevitably chose me and has captivated me ever since.
I have been a professional chef for more than 30 years and have worked in many “osterie”, restaurants and exclusive hotels. My first job was in a fish restaurant in Padova, where I am originally from, when I was only 15 years old. Back then, we didn’t have all the modern appliances and gadgets and cooking was more of a classic, genuine experience that has marked me to this day. It was a very romantic way of preparing food!
I came to Venice 10 years ago chasing the love of my life, Marta. We got married in 2013 and now have a beautiful little girl called Amanda who has completely changed the way I see life. We really love living in the most unique city in the world and enjoy the little nooks and crannies that we have discovered throughout the years.
My love for cooking and transforming simple products into magnificent creations lead me to build a semi-professional kitchen when we decided to move into our new apartment in 2015. Back then, I could already picture myself teaching people from all over the world how to cook the best Venetian recipes, and I built and equipped my kitchen with that purpose in mind.
I also dream of teaching my daughter how to make homemade bolognese the same way my father taught me so many years ago in this kitchen!
Although cooking requires technique and experience, I believe the most important ingredients are actually love and passion, and this is what I strive to show you during our cooking classes.
Italian cooking is not complicated, it is simply a matter of choosing the right ingredients and treating them with respect. You will be amazed by how easily you will be able to replicate these dishes and create your own once I teach you the basics!
